Some little bits of practice!

Edit:
Here's ANOTHER work-in-progress shot with the original thumbnail I did to set up the composition and basic color scheme.

Amazing. I love what you're doing.I watch your works for a long time and I always recieve a lot of inspiration from it.
Was this one done in Photoshop? And how long did it take?

It was done in Photoshop, probably around five hours total :)
Thanks so much!

I'm curious, what is your process for this kind of work. It looks so nice, but seems so simple. Perhaps it's only a matter of practice. I enjoy learning from other artists though, as I'm still in search of the perfect work flow.

Hey Kevin,
Thanks for the comment; to answer your question, the process is pretty traditional as far as applying "paint" and working with colors goes. I try to keep things a lot less technical and a lot more traditional, because it keeps my pencil sharp (in a manner of speaking). So, sad to say, but yes it's pretty much what you've feared: lots and lots of practice :)
